The
Midwest Poultry Consortium's Center of Excellence Scholarship/Internship
Program officially kicked off its 2015 Summer Session on Monday, May 18th at the
University of Wisconsin-Madison. In doing so, the COE reached a milestone, marking the 20th year it has been educating students interested
in pursuing poultry careers. Twenty-eight eager students, representing 12 of our 13 member states, began classes which will prepare them for employment within the poultry industry upon their graduation.
Internships,
which are integral to the COE experience, will begin in July following the
conclusion of the summer courses.
Be
sure to mark your calendar for the year-end COE Banquet
scheduled for Tuesday, June 23, at the

Our industry has adapted to many changes and found ways to remain viable. When we were asked to make changes our industry stepped up to create animal welfare standards. These were phased in to create better living environments for our birds without creating havoc with supply and gave everyone time to plan for the needed changes. This was pretty much done voluntarily without government involvement. Truly our industry reacting to the desires of our customers. Click

A
meeting of the Midwest Poultry Consortium Board of Directors
will be held Tuesday, June 23, in conjunction
with the 2015 COE year-end banquet and awards presentation.
The meeting will be held at 3:30 p.m.

The
Midwest Poultry Consortium's (MPC) student tracking
and database system follows COE graduates not only through
their graduation, but also through full-time employment.
The goal of this tracking system is to help place COE
graduates in full-time positions within MPC member companies
and to retain as many students in the poultry industry
as possible. Congratulations to the following students
on their poultry employment!
