COE Graduates in New Poultry Roles at Member Universities

MPC works to track past COE graduates through their careers in the poultry industry. Two past COE graduates have recently taken full time jobs at member universities’ poultry farms. We are excited to have these advocates on-campus and look forward to the work they will be able to do. MPC asked Jessica Menke and Lindsey Leiser to tell us a little bit about their new jobs and their facilities.

From Jessica Menke, COE 2018 Graduate: I graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and am a 2018 graduate of the Center of Excellence Scholarship/Internship (COE) program. Click here for entire article and to see student award winners.

Managing Poultry Enteric Challenges with Phytogenic Feed Additives
Rachel Tonda, Associate Product Manager, Kemin Animal Nutrition and Health – North America

Virtually omnipresent in most poultry farm environments, coccidia parasites are one of the most common and costly poultry gut health challenges in the global industry. Sub-clinical coccidiosis results in damage to intestinal epithelial cells which limits nutrient absorption and reduces body weight gain, resulting in poor feed efficiency. Be Sure to Take Advantage of MPC's Jobs Page

The Midwest Poultry Consortium has a great resource to connect people looking for careers in the poultry industry with MPC sponsor companies seeking to fill positions with qualified candidates.

MPC's jobs page is a handy tool allowing prospective, past, and current COE students to learn about industry career opportunities. It also allows MPC sponsor companies a convenient way to reach COE students who may be interested in applying for open positions. The jobs page can be found under the Center of Excellence tab of the MPC website or by clicking here.

MPC sponsors looking to post a position on the jobs page should email a job description with application information to mpc@mwpoultry.org. Job openings are also promoted on MPC's social media sites.
